Mission Statement of Trinity Regional School
Trinity Regional School participates in the mission of the Church by providing a Catholic education on the elementary level. We foster the intellectual, spiritual, social, physical and emotional development of students. The Good News of Christ, His truth and His life is integrated into every aspect of our school. Children are encouraged to incorporate service into their lives and open their hearts to all peoples.

Sponsored by six parishes, Trinity Regional School serves the educational and religious needs of students in the communities of East Northport, Northport, Huntington Station, Centerport, Greenlawn and Melville.

Trinity Regional School offers a comprehensive educational program from Nursery School through Eighth grade. The faculty consists of dedicated, creative and caring teachers who are certified by the New York State Department of Education. The school maintains membership in the National Catholic Education Association and numerous professional societies.

Trinity Regional School is located at two campuses:

  • East Northport - First through Eighth grade

  • Northport - Nursery, Pre-K and full day Kindergarten

Curriculum
Trinity Regional School offers a comprehensive educational program from Nursery School through Eighth Grade.

Early Childhood Program
Our Early Childhood Program consists of a Nursery School for 3 year olds. Pre-Kindergarten for 4 year olds and Full Day Kindergarten.

Nursery for 3 year olds concentrates on the social and physical growth of early childhood. Arts & Crafts, Music/Dance and Language Development are key elements of this program.

The emphasis of Pre-Kindergarten for 4 year olds is the intellectual, physical, social, spiritual and emotional growth of each child in a risk free environment.

Kindergarten lays the foundation for a child to become a thinking, caring student. It provides the material, experience, relationships and opportunities to meet the spiritual, social, intellectual, emotional and physical needs of the young child. Included in the Kindergarten Program is instruction in Music, Library, Gym and Computers.

Religion is taught for all classes. Children participate in para-liturgical services, church visits and regional-wide celebrations.

First Through Eighth Grade
Trinity Regional adheres to New York State and Diocesan guidelines in all subject areas. Our curriculum is enhanced by classes in Computers, Foreign Language, Art, Music, Library Studies and Physical Education. Remedial and Gifted Programs are offered to those who qualify. Supplementary services in connection with the public school district include Speech, Resource Room and Psychological Services. Standardized tests are administered annually with the Diocese of Rockville Centre scoring in the top quarter of the nation. Trinity students consistently score in the top percentiles on the New York State Program Evaluation Tests. An accelerated 7th grade Math Program and Sequential Math l are offered to those 7th and 8th graders who qualify. Our students participate in all types of Contests, Bees and Science Fairs and are consistently winners. Trinity Regional continues in the Catholic school tradition of academic excellence.

Religious Education
The Gospel message of Jesus pervades all aspects of student life. Students receive daily instruction in Catholic theology and participate in daily prayer, monthly liturgies and seasonal para-liturgical experiences. Priests from our six parishes preside at all liturgies. Moral education is woven into daily lessons and activities, including skills of decision-making to aid the maturing child. An appreciation of self, others, and all life is instilled in our students.

Activities
Trinity Regional School offers a variety of activities that enrich the curriculum and expand opportunities for our students in Grades One through Eight. Each class prepares a Monthly Liturgy and a Spirit Day Assembly. Activities include Band, Chorus, Student Council, Environmental Club, School Play, School Newspaper, Yearbook, Service Opportunities, Math and Spelling Bees, Science Fair, Social Awareness Projects, 1st and 8th grade Buddy System, Inter-Class Pen Pals and Intramurals. All classes participate in field trips. Cultural/Educational Programs are often brought into the school for various grade levels.
