PROJECT HOPE
Project HOPE is a service based group that was started in 2004 by the youth of our Parish.
The name is an acronym for Helping Other People Eat.  Project HOPE does this by hosting Sunday Suppers that were inspired by St. Vincent DePaul's Thanksgiving and Easter meals that are open to everyone.  The members of Project HOPE also provides food to those in need by partnering with Parish Outreach, Family Service League, Tri. CYA, and  Paumanack Village.

ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY

The Rosary Altar Society praises and honors the Blessed Virgin Mary to secure her patronage by reciting the Rosary for the mutual spiritual benefit of all the members throughout the world. Each member is required to recite 15 decades of the Rosary each week.

The recitation of the Rosary also takes place during each monthly meeting, at a the funeral upon the death of a member, and at ceremonies such as The May Crowning of our Blessed Mother, renewal of membership, induction on new members and installation of officers.

In addition, members take responsibility for the care of the Altar, Sanctuary, Chapel and Sacristy. This includes laundering of the church linen, dusting and polishing. Lines is taken home, laundered and returned on week to week basis. Training is provided for new members.

KNITTING CLUB

St. Hugh Knitting and Crocheting Group makes pre-natal baby blankets and hats that are donated to a neo-natal unit in one of the Catholic hospitals. In the winter we also make scarves and hats which are donated to St. Hugh Outreach.

St. Hugh Knitting and Crochet group meets on Thursday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the St. Clare room in the First Avenue section of the Parish Center. Some people who cannot come in do their knitting and crocheting at home and then bring it in.  We are always looking for people to join us, so you can show up on a Thursday, or bring your donations to St. Hugh Outreach and they will get it to us.
